Customs duties and import taxes

Any import taxes, duties, customs fees, or other charges required by the destination country are the responsibility of the recipient.

Customers are advised to contact their local customs authorities before placing an order to check possible costs, restrictions, or import limits.

African Cottons Italia is not responsible for any delays caused by customs procedures, inspections, or events outside its control.

Acceptance of the Terms and conclusion of the contract

The contract between African Cottons Italia Srl, hereinafter “African Cottons Italia,” and the Customer, meaning the individual with legal capacity or the entity making a purchase on the Site, shall be considered concluded when African Cottons Italia accepts the order, even partially.

If the order is not accepted, African Cottons Italia will promptly inform the Customer.

By placing an order through the order form available on the Site, hereinafter the “Order,” the Customer declares that they have read all the information provided during the purchase process and fully accept these Terms and Conditions of Sale, hereinafter the “Terms.”

These Terms may be printed or saved on a durable medium, in accordance with Article 12 of Italian Legislative Decree No. 70/2003 and Article 51 of Italian Legislative Decree No. 206/2005, as amended by Legislative Decree No. 21/2014.

Purchase process

The products offered for sale by African Cottons Italia are only those available on www.afartextiles.com at the time the Order is submitted, as described in the relevant product pages.

The images shown with each product description are for information purposes only. They may not perfectly represent the product’s actual characteristics and may differ in color, also due to the browser, monitor, or device used to access the Site and view the images.

To place an Order, the Customer must complete the order form on the Site in full and submit it after carefully reviewing these Terms and the characteristics of the product or products they intend to purchase.

If the Customer wishes to receive a tax invoice for the purchase, they must request it from African Cottons Italia in accordance with Article 22 of Italian Presidential Decree No. 633/1972.

The Customer is not permitted to enter false information. Personal data and email addresses must be real and must belong to the Customer, not to another person or entity.

By submitting the Order, the Customer confirms that they know and unconditionally accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

African Cottons Italia will confirm receipt of the Order by email, sent to the email address provided by the Customer. The confirmation email will summarize the Order, the purchase conditions, and the data provided by the Customer, so that the Customer may check the information and promptly report any corrections.

Prices and payment methods

The prices shown on the Site are expressed in euros and include VAT, where applicable according to the country of delivery.

For countries outside the European Union, VAT will be deducted when the order is processed, where applicable.

Any shipping costs or payment fees will be communicated to the Customer through the Site or through these Terms.

African Cottons Italia reserves the right to change the prices shown on the Site at any time. In no case shall African Cottons Italia be liable for any price changes.

The following payment method is accepted:

Credit card.

The transaction will be processed through Stripe’s secure server, or through another secure server selected by African Cottons Italia. At no stage of the payment process will African Cottons Italia have access to the Customer’s credit card information.

Product delivery and shipping costs

Purchased products will be shipped within 5 days from order confirmation, unless otherwise communicated.

For deliveries within Italy, delivery usually takes 2–3 days from shipment. Delivery times may be longer for islands.

For deliveries outside the European Union, delivery times vary depending on the destination country and may exceed 3 working days. African Cottons Italia will provide estimated delivery information upon request.

For shipments within Italy, a shipping contribution of €14.60 applies to orders under €50.00. For orders of €50.00 or more, shipping is free.

For shipments to EU countries, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, and Iceland, a shipping contribution of €18.00 applies to orders under €50.00. For orders of €50.00 or more, shipping is free.

For shipments to the United States, a shipping contribution of €20.00 applies to orders under €70.00. For orders of €70.00 or more, shipping is free.

We also ship to Japan, Russia, South Korea, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Africa, Kenya, and Canada. For these destinations, a shipping contribution of €55.00 applies, regardless of the order amount.

For shipments to countries not listed above, please contact our customer service before placing your order.

African Cottons Italia is not responsible for delays caused by customs procedures, inspections, or events outside its control.

The shipping cost contribution is shown separately from the product price. The Customer may view the shipping cost before confirming the Order.

All delivery times indicated by African Cottons Italia are purely indicative. Any delay, or any delivery made in separate shipments, does not entitle the Customer to refuse delivery or claim compensation or damages.

Upon delivery, the Customer must check:

that the number of packages delivered corresponds to the number indicated on the delivery document;

that the packaging, including the sealing material, is intact, undamaged, dry, and not otherwise altered.

In the event of damage to the packaging, a mismatch in the number of packages, or any other issue, the Customer must ask the courier to write the following wording on the delivery document, in capital letters: “Accepted with reservation after inspection.”

The Customer must then report the issue to African Cottons Italia by email at customercare@afartextiles.com within 24 hours.

If the recipient is absent at the time of delivery, the courier will leave a notice with the information needed to arrange a new delivery attempt.

If the package cannot be delivered for reasons attributable to the Customer, including an incorrect address, repeated absence of the recipient, or an incorrect phone number, or if the Customer refuses delivery, the shipping costs and any customs charges will be deducted from the refund due to the Customer.

Right of withdrawal

Pursuant to Article 52 of Italian Legislative Decree No. 206/2005, the Consumer Code, as amended by Legislative Decree No. 21/2014, the Customer may withdraw from these Terms and therefore from the purchase contract for any reason, without having to provide an explanation and without any penalty, within 30 working days from the date of receipt of the products.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, the Customer must notify African Cottons Italia within the stated period by email at:

In the event of withdrawal, the Customer must return the products to African Cottons Italia at their own expense within 14 days from the date of withdrawal to the following address:

The goods must be returned intact, complete with all parts, and in their original packaging, including bags and boxes. They must be kept and, if handled or used, handled or used only for the time strictly necessary to determine and verify their nature, characteristics, and size. The Customer must exercise ordinary care, and the products must show no signs of wear, dirt, or damage.

The following conditions apply:

The right of withdrawal applies to the product purchased as a whole. It is not possible to withdraw only from part of the purchased product, such as accessories, components, or other individual elements.

For withdrawal to be possible, the product must be intact and returned in its original packaging, complete with all parts, including packaging, documentation, labels, tags, seals, and any accessories.

Transport risk remains entirely with the Customer until the returned product is received at the warehouse indicated by African Cottons Italia.

If the product is damaged during return shipment, African Cottons Italia will inform the Customer so that they may promptly file a claim with the courier they used and request the relevant refund. In this case, the product will be made available to the Customer and the withdrawal request will be canceled.

African Cottons Italia is not liable for damage, theft, or loss occurring during, or in connection with, the return shipment.

After receiving the returned products, African Cottons Italia will refund the amount paid by the Customer within 14 days, through a reversal of the charged amount.

African Cottons Italia will refund the Customer the product price and the original shipping costs paid for delivery of the product to the Customer. Return shipping costs remain the responsibility of the Customer, unless African Cottons Italia has expressly agreed otherwise.

The Customer will lose the right of withdrawal if African Cottons Italia verifies that:

the returned product, its accessories, or its packaging are not intact;

the product is missing its outer packaging or original inner packaging;

the product is missing integral elements or accessories, such as closures, laces, buckles, labels, tags, seals, or other components.

If the right of withdrawal is lost, African Cottons Italia will return the purchased product to the sender, charging the Customer for the shipping costs. If a refund has already been issued, African Cottons Italia may also charge the Customer for the product price.

Warranty

Products sold by African Cottons Italia are covered by the legal warranty of conformity provided by Articles 128 et seq. of the Italian Consumer Code, Legislative Decree No. 206/2005. This warranty applies only to consumers.

Under this law, the seller is required to deliver goods that conform to the sales contract.

To make use of warranty assistance, the Customer must keep the invoice or payment receipt together with the delivery document.

The Seller shall be liable to the Customer for any lack of conformity existing at the time of delivery, or appearing within 24 months from delivery.

To benefit from the warranty, the Customer must report the lack of conformity to African Cottons Italia within 2 months from discovery, under penalty of losing the right to the warranty, by contacting African Cottons Italia by email.

The warranty for lack of conformity applies only if the product has been used correctly, in accordance with its intended use and with the use, care, and washing instructions provided in or with the product.

Defects or damage caused by accidental events, by the Customer, by use that does not comply with the product’s intended purpose, or by normal wear and tear are excluded from the legal warranty.

If African Cottons Italia is unable to provide the Customer with a product under warranty, either repaired or replaced, or if repair or replacement is excessively costly in relation to the value of the product, African Cottons Italia may apply an appropriate reduction to the price paid or refund the full amount paid and terminate the contract.

In cases where the application of the warranty requires the product to be returned, the product must be returned by the Customer in its original packaging, complete with all parts, including packaging, documentation, and any accessories.

Privacy

The protection and processing of personal data will take place in accordance with the Privacy Policy available on the Site.

Applicable law

The sales contract governed by these Terms, and its performance, are subject to Italian law.

Conflict-of-law rules and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods are excluded.

The competent court shall be the court of the Customer’s place of residence or domicile, if located within the territory of the Italian State.

African Cottons Italia does not guarantee that the materials available on the website comply with the laws in force in other countries. Access to such materials from places where their content is illegal is expressly prohibited.

Users who choose to access this website from such places do so at their own risk and are solely responsible for complying with applicable local laws.

Copyright

Trademarks, logos, and other distinctive signs appearing on the Site belong to their respective owners.

The use of trademarks, logos, and other distinctive signs, including their reproduction on other websites by unauthorized third parties, is prohibited.

The contents of the Site, including text, images, and graphics, are protected by copyright.

Entire agreement

This contract replaces all previous contracts, agreements, and understandings between the parties and constitutes the entire agreement between them with respect to the subject matter of the contract, together with the Order, the general conditions governing use of the Site, and the registration service.

Any amendment or change to the contract must be accepted in writing by both parties.

Communications

All communications between the parties must be made in writing and sent to the address of the other party specified in the contract and in the Order.

Communications sent to the email address of the other party, as specified on the Site and in the Order, shall also be considered written communications.

Languages

The sales contract is drafted in two languages: Italian and English.

In the event of any discrepancy in the translation, the Italian version shall prevail.
